Club history
Sensei Roger Fabri founded Beckenham Shotokan Karate Club on 4th September, 1999 at the Studio, Beckenham, in order to pass on his knowledge, dedication and love of Karate. Originally as a sister club to Sensei Roy Tomlin's Lewisham Shotokan Karate Club, the Beckenham SKC now has a thriving membership in it’s own right.

Still at it’s original location at Beckenham Town Hall, the club has grown steadily and caters for a broad age range from kids to old timers. Roger’s no-nonsense approach to teaching and attention to detail has proved popular and the club often welcomes visitors from other clubs.

The club likes to invite quality guest instructors from time to time, attends special courses and offers participation at tournaments for those wishing to compete. From small beginnings, the club now has several black belts, some of whom have been at the club since the beginner stage.
The club's principal aims are to promote Shotokan Karate as a way to a healthier lifestyle and a more positive mental attitude, both inside and outside the Dojo (training hall) and to support deserving causes within the local area.
